Ray Gilbert
Ray began his martial arts training at the age of twelve. As a student of Jeff Speakman, he studied the art of Japanese
Goju-Ryu, and attained his black belt at the age of 16. He continued his training under Lou Angel, one of the pioneers of
martial arts in the United States. He trained and taught at Mr. Angel,s dojo in Joplin, Missouri, and then opened his own
school in 1993 in Webb City, Missouri. He began his American Kenpo training after meeting Sibok Tom Kelly at Mr. Angels 40th
Anniversary Martial Arts Celebration. Besides teaching and studying American Kenpo, Mr. Gilbert has also become the assistant
MMA coach, studying and learning the art under James Bullock, the Head MMA coach. Over the past 20 years, Mr. Gilbert has
also won numerous local, regional, national, and international championships in both Forms and Fighting. His most recent accomplishments
include traveling to Europe to compete in the World Kempo Championships, in which he won 2 Gold Medals and a Silver Medal
for the U.S. Team. He is still an avid competitor to this day. Ray Gilbert provides a wide range of seminars covering such
aspects as sparring, self-defense, women's self-defense and weapons training. He and his family live in Webb City, Missouri.

James Bullock
James began studying the martial arts in 1990 under Don Douglas in the art of GoJu Ryu Karate. In 1995 he began student
teaching under the guidance of Sensei Douglas. He earned the rank of black belt in 1996. Since that time he has studied with
many great martial artists and trained with world champion fighters across the country. In 2003 he began teaching a system
called "Combative Sciences" which includes the techniques of stand up, clinch, and ground fighting. In 2004 James
had the honor and privilege to meet and compete with Ray Gilbert. From that time forward they kept in contact and built a
friendship. In 2007 Ray contacted James and offered the opportunity of a lifetime, which was to teach at his school. Since
that time James has been the Head MMA Coach and has been learning the art of American Kenpo from Ray becoming the Assistant
Kenpo Instructor as well. His greatest accomplishment of 2007 was coaching and training Ray for the World Kempo Championships.
